We want to get you up to date about our new station. We have finalized the design. We have been very diligent in making sure we meet our needs, not our wants, making sure that every space is necessary and utilized to its fullest potential, while remaining frugal as costs continue to increase the longer we wait.
In September, on our website and Facebook page, look for a short virtual tour of our existing station and a floor plan layout of the new station. Check out the QR code below!
We will be hosting open house events on October 9th and October 22nd, both from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Please mark your calendar and stop by! We will have lots of information to share about the proposed project, you can see for yourself our current station limitations, address the reasons why a new station is critical to meet the needs of our community now and into the future and answer any other questions you may have.
The Village of Union Grove will have a referendum question on the November 5th ballot, asking you to support a new station; it’s financing for construction, land, equipment and furnishings. Union Grove’s portion of the project is 37.77% of the total cost.
The Union Grove – Yorkville Fire Department has always taken pride in serving our community and providing you with the best possible service. As our community continues to grow, the burden on our existing station, built in 1973, has taken its toll and has exceeded its expected life span.
On behalf of all our personnel, I hope you can stop by our open house events and support our new station.
Fall is approaching! It’s time to change the batteries in your smoke detector and test your CO alarm. Please be safe and enjoy the cooler weather!
